HC Deb 01 December 1902 vol 115 cc837-8
MR. WEIR

To ask the Lord Advocate, in view of the fact that Mr. Millar, the Local Government Board's inspecting officer, under the Public Health Act, visited the Island of Lewis in the month of May last, will the Secretary for Scotland state the names of the townships in the parishes of Stornoway, Barvas, Lochs, and Uig which were visited by the inspecting officer; and whether his report on sanitary matters contains any recommendations with a view to improve the sanitary conditions of those parishes.

(Answered by Mr. A. Graham Murray.) As I have already informed the hon. Member, in reply to Questions on the same subject on 5th and 18th November Mr. Millar's visit on the occasion in question was mainly for Poor Law purposes, and the only report he made on sanitary matters had reference to Stronoway.
