HC Deb 04 August 1902 vol 112 c518
MR. LUNDON (Limerick, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state for how many labourers' cottages contracts have been entered into by the Rural District Council of Kilmallock, County Limerick, under the present scheme; and, seeing that after the season for the digging of the potato crop has expired employment in that district is difficult to obtain, will he take steps to ensure the immediate erection of all the cottages.

MR. WYNDHAM

The Local Government Board has addressed the District Council on the first part of the Question, and when the information has been received I will communicate it to the hon. Member. The Board has no power to take action as suggested in the second part of the Question. It rests with the Council to expedite the erection of the cottages.
