MR. DEVLIN (Kilkenny, N.)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether any appointment has yet been made to the postmastership of Banbridge, County Down, and, if not, whether he will undertake that the person appointed shall be a person professing the religious faith of the majority of the Irish people.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) No appointment has yet been made. The Postmaster General does not intend to make any inquiry as to the religious beliefs of the several candidates.
