To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware that a firm of constructional engineers erecting drill sheds at Devon-port, under contract for the Admiralty, are not paying the current rate of wages in the locality to carpenters and joiners employed upon the work; and whether he will take steps to see that the Fair Wages Resolution of this House is carried out.

(Answered by Mr. Arnold Foster.) The Admiralty are not aware that this is the case, but if the hon. Member will give further details, the matter will be inquired into. It is not possible from the information given in his Question to identify cither the firm or the work to which he refers.
