HC Deb 25 April 1902 vol 106 cc1326-7
MR. FLOWER (Bradford, W)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, in view of the International Conference on the Welfare and Protection of Children, to; be held in London next July, he will now cause to be prepared a Return of the number of Boards of Guardians who have put the Poor Law Act, 1899, in force, and the number of children adopted under its provisions.

THE SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. GRANT LAWSON,) Yorkshire, N.R., Thirsk

I am not at present in possession of the information desired, but I should be happy to obtain it from the several Boards of Guardians. This I should propose to do in connection with their next half-yearly Returns of Pauperism, so as to avoid the necessity of troubling them to make a separate Return.
