WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he is aware that, although the new territory on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong was acquired mainly for the purpose of protecting the Colony, no steps whatever have been taken to fortify the hills; and will he say whether this inaction has the sanction of the Defence Committee and His Majesty's Government.
