§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he is aware that the Deer Forest Commissioners state at page 10 of their Report, dated 19th March, 1895, that any scheme that would result in affording cottars the opportunity of obtaining crofts such as presently exist would operate a substantial relief both to the cottars themselves and to the neighbouring crofters; and will he explain why no scheme such as that indicated has at present been evolved to meet the requirements of the cottars in the Island of Lewis and on the mainland of Ross-shire.
