HC Deb 18 April 1902 vol 106 cc656-7
MR. O'DOWD

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that negotiations are at present in progress for the sale to the tenants of portion of the Drocastle estate, situated in the barony of Costello, County Mayo; and will he explain why the remaining portion of this estate is excluded from the scheme of purchase.

MR. WYNDHAM

Negotiations are in progress for the sale of lands on the Darcy estate. Whether these lands comprise the whole or part only of the estate mentioned in the Question, I cannot say. But, in any case, it is not for me to explain why certain lands are not to be sold.
