FARQUHARSON (Aberdeenshire, W.)I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether he can give any information as to the relation of the authorities managing continuation classes to county technical instruction committees whose grant is in part applicable to the same purposes and which have in fact been so applying it, but who do not know whether it is expected or allowed to subsidise or to assume any responsibility with regard to continuation classes in future.

GRAHAM MURRAYThe Scotch Education Department will be glad to give any information in their power in regard to any question raised by the technical committees of county councils with reference to continuation 777 classes. They are not aware that there is any change in their relation to these classes consequent on the new Code; but any attempt to discuss the powers of these committees in this matter in an answer to a question would certainly give rise to misapprehension.
