HC Deb 16 May 1901 vol 94 c256
MR. JOYCE (Limerick)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the finding of the court of inquiry on the loss of the ship "Moel Tryran" in January, 1901, which declared that the vessel was not properly ballasted, and that the court could not too strongly condemn the practice of sending a ship to sea in this condition, and whether the Board of Trade has taken any steps in reference to the finding of this court of inquiry.

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

Yes, Sir; my attention has been called to the case to which the hon. Member refers, and I am in communication with the owners and their solicitors on the subject before I decide whether it is desirable for me to take any steps in the matter.
