HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether representations have been made to Sir Alfred Milner by a number of the ministers and representative men at Pretoria in favour of a strict regulation or restriction of the liquor traffic in the system of government to be set up in the Transvaal; and whether, having regard to the importance of the licensing question in the future administration of the colony, he 935 is in a position to make any statement on the subject.
