HC Deb 06 May 1901 vol 93 c757
MR. O'MARA (Kilkenny, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that the magistrates of the Diss Petty Sessions (Norfolk) refused exemption certificates to three applicants who had conscientious objections to vaccination on 24th April, and whether he will call the attention of the Lord Chancellor to their decisions.

*MR. RITCHIE

I am informed that the three applicants referred to failed to satisfy the magistrates that they conscientiously believed that vaccination would be prejudicial to the health of their children. Under the Act magistrates must be so satisfied before they can grant a certificate; and no facts have been laid before me in regard to these cases which call for any communication to the Lord Chancellor.
