HC Deb 03 May 1901 vol 93 cc592-3
MR. THOMAS DEWAR (Tower Hamlets, St. George's)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if he will say how many of the enemy have been made prisoners of war in South Africa during the month of April, and how these prisoners have been distributed.

THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE WAR OFFICE (Lord STANLEY, Lancashire, Westhoughton)

The number of prisoners reported to the War Office as having been captured in April is 1,046, and 160 surrendered. I am not aware of the manner in which they have been distributed.

MR. FLAVIN

How many British prisoners were captured by the Boers during the same month?
