§ MR. HAY (Shoreditch, Hoxton)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he can state the number of children now boarded out in England and Wales, distinguishing between those boarded out within and those without the union.
§ MR. WALTER LONGOn the 1st January last the number of children boarded out in England and Wales was 7,547. Of these, 5,651 were boarded out within the unions and 1,896 beyond the unions to which they were chargeable.
