I beg to ask Mr. Chan- 413 cellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider the propriety of refraining from coining five shilling pieces in the new silver coinage.

I am requested by my right hon. friend to state that, as at present advised, he does not think it advisable to discontinue the coinage of five shilling pieces.
