§ Leave given to the Select Committee to make a Special Report.
§ Special Report brought up and read as followeth:—
§ "The attention of your Committee has been called to the publication in The Times newspaper of 14th March of a statement purporting to represent proposals contained in the papers marked 60 Confidential referred to your Committee, and to a Report of their proceedings on 13th March.
§ "They are unable to ascertain in what manner this can have been divulged.
§ "They recommend that Mr. Speaker, to whom the authority of the House in such matters is delegated, do take such steps, either by the exclusion of the representative of The Times from the inner lobbies of the House, or otherwise, as may seem to him best calculated to prevent such publication in future."
§ Special Report to lie upon the Table, and to he printed. [No. 87.]
§ *MR. SPEAKERThe House will not expect me to say more at present than that I shall at the earliest moment take into consideration the recommendations of the Committee, with a view to doing what I think best for attaining the object they have in view.
