HC Deb 14 March 1901 vol 90 cc1602-3
SIR H. CAMPBFLL-BANNERMAN (Stirling Burghs)

I wish to ask the Leader of the House what will be the business of the House next week.

MR A. J. BALFOUR

It must partly depend on the business to-morrow (Friday) and the progress made with the discussion on question: connected with the Army Estimate. I hope the House will make rapid progress, for the time w hen all the questiont of Supply must be concluded is rapidly approaching. I hope hon. Gentlemen will consent, in the case of tin Army Estimates, to the Speakers leaving the Chair and giving the Government Votes A and I without delay. I am sure that the questions raised by the Secretary for War in his statement are of the greatest gravity and importance, and I shall feel it my duty to find later on such opportunities as may be necessary for adequate discussion of those far-reaching proposals.

MR. O'DOWD (Sligo, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he can state On what date it is proposed to move Mr. Speaker out of the Chair for the purpose of discussing the Navy Estimates.

MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER

This question should be addressed to the First Lord of the Treasury.
