HC Deb 11 June 1901 vol 97 c101
MR. THOMAS DEWAR

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether the result of the recent experiments with weight-carrying motor cars has been such as to encourage the Postmaster General to continue or extend their use for the conveyance of His Majesty's mails.

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

The Postmaster General has had reports upon the recent trials of motor cars to which the hon. Member refers, but he has not come to a conclusion upon the question whether they can yet be used with advantage for the mail service.
