DR. MACNAMARA (Camberwell, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will grant a Return showing the number of cases of soldiers committed whilst serving in South Africa to terms of imprisonment since the opening of the war, the Return to show in each case the rank of the offender, his offence, the nature of the court before which he was tried, the penalty inflicted, how far, if at all, the sentence was subsequently commuted, and whether the prisoner was confined in a civil or a military prison.
