HC Deb 06 June 1901 vol 94 cc1305-6

Considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

[Mr. GRANT LAWSON (Yorkshire, N. R., Thirsk) in the Chair.]

Clause 1:—

Amendment proposed— In page 1, line 9, to leave out from the word 'be' to the end of sub-clause (1), and insert the words 'extended to all persons receiving money from any source,' instead thereof."—(Mr. Banbury.)

Question proposed, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the clause."

MR. STRACHEY

said he hoped that the hon. Member would not persist in his Amendment, as it would practically destroy the Bill.

Committee report Progress; to sit again upon Wednesday next.
