HC Deb 23 July 1901 vol 97 cc1346-7
MR. KENNEDY

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether the attention of the Irish Board of Works has been called to the present condition of the Royal Canal, and whether they will cause an immediate inspection of the canal to be made and exercise their statutory powers in the interests of the traders on the said canal.

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

An inspection has just been made, and the Board of Works will proceed without delay to call the attention of the Midland Great Western Railway to defects which have been found to exist, and to cause the defects in question to be remedied.
