HC Deb 23 July 1901 vol 97 cc1345-6
COLONEL NOLAN (Galway, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if his attention has been drawn to the resolution of the Mount Bellew District Council, pointing out that the Ballinakill Electoral Division has sixty-two landholders living on land valued at £227, but that this congested area cannot be scheduled under the present law owing to the proximity of grazing farms; and will he take powers under the new amending Congested Act to schedule this and similar districts.

MR. WYNDHAM

Assuming the facts to be as stated legislation would be necessary of a more ambitious and, therefore, of a more contentious character than the provisions in the Bill before Parliament. I cannot undertake to deal with the question of "scheduling" by amending that Bill.
