HC Deb 19 July 1901 vol 97 c991
MR. SAMUEL YOUNG (Cavan, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can state how many Irish graduates are in the Army Medical Department, and in what proportion they are to the English and Scotch graduates.

MR. BRODRICK

The number of Irish graduates is 334, being 37 per cent., as compared with English 35 per cent., and Scotch 28 per cent.

MR. T. M. HEALY (Louth, N.)

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether Sir William Thompson has refused to serve on the Committee he has appointed?

MR. BRODRICK

I hope to be able to say in about twenty minutes time.
