§ MR. SOAMESI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the 1182 pay of British officers and men is stopped when they are prisoners of war; and, if so, whether any allowance is made to their wives and families.
* LORD STANLEYThe pay of prisoners of war is not now stopped unless their surrender is proved to have been the result of their own neglect or misconduct. At no period of the war did the issue of separation allowance to their families cease.
