WILLIAM REDMOND (Clare, E.)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will request the Orient Steam Navigation Company to state the names of their vessels on which the stokers were drunken and mutinous, and the dates of the occurrences; whether the company prosecuted the stokers for the offences they are alleged to have committed; whether, on the discharge of these stokers, they gave them certificates of discharge, declining to report with regard to character; and whether they will state the names of their vessels on which they state they have sustained heavy losses, and the dates, in consequence of the wholesale desertion of their crews.
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI have referred this question to the Orient Steam Navigation Company, who inform me that they do not feel called upon to supply the information for which the hon. Member asks.
