§ MR. KEIR HARDIEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that the sub-committee of the joint committee of the Carnarvonshire County Council, to whom the chief constable appealed for endorsement of his request that soldiers should be sent to Bethesda, are composed of persons connected with the slate trade; and whether he proposes doing anything to amend the law so as to prevent in future interested parties from acting as magistrates in the calling out of the military during a labour dispute.
§ *MR. RITCHIEI have no information on the point referred to in the first paragraph. I find no reason in the facts at present before me for thinking that any amendment of the law is required.
