I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture if he will state the number of outbreaks of swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease up to this date in the years 1899, 1900, and 1901.

The approximate number of outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease for the sixteen weeks ended 20th April, 1901 is twelve; there were eight in the similar period of last year, and none in 1899. Of swine fever there have been 935 outbreaks in the sixteen weeks of the present year, 563 during the same time last year, and 771 during the similar period in 1899.
