HC Deb 29 April 1901 vol 93 cc41-2
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India, with reference to the Commission of Inquiry recently held at Calcutta to inquire into the management of estates by the Administrator General of Bengal, whether the commissioners have submitted their Report; and, if so, whether he will lay it upon the Table of the House.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Lord G. HAMILTON, Middlesex Ealing)

I have no information as to whether the Commission referred to in the question has submitted its Report. That Report, when submitted, will be for the consideration of the Government of India; and until I have seen it and the orders passed upon it by that Government, I am unable to say whether it can be laid upon the Table.
