HC Deb 26 April 1901 vol 92 c1451
MR. DALY

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that a serious outbreak of small-pox has occurred in Lisburn, and whether he can state what measures have been taken to stamp out this outbreak of small-pox.

MR. WYNDHAM

The medical inspector of the Local Government Board has conferred with the local authorities on the steps to be taken for preventing the spread of the disease. They are fully alive to the importance of taking effective precautionary measures, and are at present considering the question of providing an isolation hospital.

MR. BARTLEY (Islington, N.)

Will steps be taken to enforce the vaccination laws?

MR. WYNDHAM

Does the hon. Member mean to suggest that the law is not enforced? I am not aware of it.
