§ DR. MACNAMARAI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury, having 493 regard to the proposed provisions of the Education Code for 1901, under which the attendances of any child of upwards of fifteen years of age will not he recognised in a higher elementary school, and to the proposed provisions of the Code, under which no scholar may remain in a higher elementary school beyond the close of the school year in which he or she is fifteen years of age, except such scholars as may be receiving instruction in a school at the time of its conversion into a higher elementary school, and are allowed to remain with the sanction of the Board of Education, whether he will arrange that these provisions shall not become operative until they have been discussed by the House.
