§ MR. WILLIAM REDMOND (Clare, E.)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether the Government will undertake that the provisions of the Arms Act shall not be used to prevent or discourge the formation of rifle clubs in Ireland.
§ MR. WYNDHAMIt is for the Lord Lieutenant, with the advice of the Privy Council, to determine the conditions and regulations under which the carrying or having of arms or ammunition may be authorised in districts proclaimed under the Peace Preservation Act of 1881. It is not proposed to interfere with the Lord Lieutenant in the exercise of his discretion.
