§ MR. WILLIAM REDMONDI beg to ask Mr. Attorney General for Ireland if he can state the number of prosecutions unde the Licensing Act that have taken place in Lisdoonvarna for the past twelve months, and also the number of times the police failed to obtain a conviction, and a Return for the same period of the number of convictions for drunkenness.
§ THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. ATKINSON, Londonderry, N.)During the twelve months ended 30th ultimo, there were twenty-seven prosecutions in Lisdoonvarna under the Licensing Acts other than prosecutions for drunkenness. In eleven of these cases the police failed to obtain convictions. During the same period there were ninety-three prosecutions for drunkenness, in all of which convictions were obtained.
