§ MR. ALFRED HUTTON (Yorkshire, W.R., Morley)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will consent to appoint a Committee to inquire into the work of the Charity Commission, and also to suggest such principles as should be applied to local authorities seeking to have control of local charities.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI understand that there was a Departmental Committee. 943 which sat on the Charity Commission in 1893 and a Select Committee to inquire into its constitution in 1894. I do not think that under these circumstances any further inquiry is called for.
