§ MR. HUMPHREYS-OWENI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War what is the nature of the records of the courts purporting to be held under martial law in Cape Colony, whether they include the depositions or copies thereof, and what measures are taken to secure their accuracy and completeness.
§ * MR. WYNDHAMThe record of but one court held under martial law has as yet reached the War Office. Copies of the depositions formed part of the proceedings in that case—following exactly the forms of an ordinary court-martial. There is no reason, therefore, to suppose that the records will be inaccurate or incomplete.
