PATRICK O'BRIEN (Kilkenny)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, will he explain why, on the occasion of the recent visit of Her Majesty to Dublin, the order of the Irish Privy Council, granting a bank holiday applied to the clerical staff only of the Post Office in Dublin; and, whether he is prepared to grant a holiday to all the other staffs, or an extra day's pay in lieu thereof.
§ MR. HANBURYAs I stated in reply to a similar question the other day,† instructions were given on the 26th ultimo that those officers in Dublin who could not be spared from duty on the occasion in question should be allowed a day in lieu at some other convenient time.
