HC Deb 17 May 1900 vol 83 cc420-1
MR. JOHN HUTTON

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieu- tenant of Ireland whether he proposes this year to supply suitable summer uniforms to the Royal Irish Constabulary.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. G. W. BALFOUR,) Leeds, Central

The question of providing summer clothing for the Royal Irish Constabulary has already engaged attention, but no change can be carried out this year. It is intended, however, to supply next year, if possible, a summer frock made from cloth which will be more suited to the requirements of the service.
