GRANT LAWSON (Yorkshire, N.R., Thirsk)On behalf of the hon. and gallant Member for the Epping Division of Essex, I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if the memorandum of the head master of Eton College, with regard to military education in public secondary schools and their association with a scheme of national defence, has been under consideration; and if he can make any statement thereon.

WYNDHAMThe memorandum has been carefully considered, and certain observations upon it have been addressed to the head master of Eton, who has been advised to bring it before the next conference of head masters. The Secretary of State for War will be prepared to deal with any suggestions which may emanate from the public schools as a whole.
