HEDDERWICKI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies, whether trade licences other than those for the sale of ammunition and spirits in the Protectorate of Sierra Leone have been abolished as recommended by the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce in 1898; and whether any tax corresponding or equivalent to the hut tax in the Protectorate has yet been imposed upon the colony of Sierra Leone.
