HC Deb 10 May 1900 vol 82 cc1251-2
SIR WALTER FOSTER (Derbyshire, Ilkeston)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether the regulations governing the sick absences of the Post Office staff have been altered recently; whether he is aware that the changes made have not been notified to the officers concerned; and whether the Postmaster General will take steps to publish the particulars in the post offices throughout the country.

MR. HANBURY

The regulations relating to sick absences of the staff have not been altered recently; but certain modifications have been made in the regulations as to the reports on such absences which are required to be made to headquarters; and a notification on the subject has been issued to the heads of departments and surveyors. It is not the practice to publish such circulars unless it is necessary that the staff should be made acquainted with the directions contained in them.
