HC Deb 10 May 1900 vol 82 cc1256-7
MR. FLYNN (Cork, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the tenantry on the Leahy Estate (in Chancery), situate near Liscarroll, county Cork, sent in their applications for purchase under the 40th Section of the Land Act, 1896, some three years ago; and whether he can state the cause of the delay in dealing with these applications, and whether steps will be taken to facilitate the sale of the holdings to the tenants under the section above mentioned.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. G. W. BALFOUR, Leeds, Central)

I am informed by the registrar of the Land Judge's Court that this question does not contain sufficient information to enable him to identify the particular estate referred to. If the hon. Member will supply me with some additional particulars, including the name of the townland in which the estate is situate, I will cause further inquiry to be made.
