§ MR. HAVELOCK WILSONI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state the reason why the relatives of the men lost on the Cardiff steamship "South Cambria" have not received the wages due to these men at the time the vessel was lost, in August, 1899; and whether he will cause an inquiry to be made into the circumstances of this case.
§ MR. RITCHIEThe accounts of the wages in question were received at the Board of Trade to-day, and the claims of the relatives will be dealt with at once. I understand that the delay was caused by 1098 the difficulty of the owners in obtaining a complete list of the crew on board the vessel at the time of its loss.
