§ Motion made, and Question proposed, "That it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of moneys to be provided by Parliament, of any remuneration and allowances which may become payable under any Act of the present Session to amend the Law relating to Burial Grounds."—(Secretary Sir Matthew White Ridley.)
§ MR. JONATHAN SAMUEL (Stockton)said the Committee ought to be given some explanation as to what the remuneration was for.
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir M. WHITE RIDLEY, Lancashire, Blackpool)The resolution will result in a diminution of the expenditure at present existing, 985 and it is necessary that it should be put in this form.
