HC Deb 03 May 1900 vol 82 c584
MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India if he will state the amount expended by the Government of India for the pay and travelling expenses of the members of the Indian Plague Commission, and their staff in India and this country respectively, including the cost of passages to and from India, the collection of evidence in regard to the plague, and all other expenses connected with the Report.

LORD G. HAMILTON

I have not yet received a statement of the expenditure on account of the Plague Commission in India. Until the labours of the Commission are concluded, which will probably not be before the end of July, I shall not be able to state precisely the cost of the Commission.
