§ MR. DALYI beg to ask Mr. Attorney General for Ireland whether he will grant a Return of the quantity of spirituous liquors consumed in each 451 workhouse in Ireland for the year 1899, and the average number of inmates.
§ *MR. ATKINSONThe preparation of a Return such as indicated, to which there is no objection in principle, would devolve upon clerks of unions and rural district councils, and as these officials are fully occupied in the working of the Local Government Act, I must ask the hon. Member not to move for the Return at present. If he will do so in July next, I will endeavour to have the Return prepared as rapidly as possible.
