HC Deb 19 March 1900 vol 80 cc1179-80
MR. ARCHDALE (Fermanagh, N.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether it would be possible for the War Office to reconsider their decision to remove headquarters from Enniskillen, taking into account the military feeling pervading the country, and also the conduct of the Inniskilling Fusiliers at the front, 90 per cent. of whose men are recruited in the district; also taking into account the increased accommodation pointed out to the War Office, and the unanimous resolutions of the Fermanagh Grand Jury and Enniskillen Town Commissioners on the subject.

*MR. WYNDHAM

The decision to remove the headquarters from Enniskillen has been made after a very careful consideration of all circumstances and must be maintained.
