HC Deb 12 March 1900 vol 80 c574
MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether, in the event of the Queen sanctioning the raising of a regiment of Irish Guards, the Secretary of State will consider the advisability of forming such regiment, in the first case, from soldiers selected from the Irish battalions now serving in the field.

MR. J. POWELL-WILLIAMS (for Mr. WYNDHAM)

In answer to the hon. Member, I have to say that the mode of raising the regiment has not yet been determined.
