§ COLONEL PRYCE-JONES () Montgomery BoroughsI beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, how soon effect will be given to the report of the inquiry regarding the telegraphic arrangements at Welshpool and adjoining districts.
§ MR. HANBURYThe Postmaster General regrets that owing to an oversight a reply has not been sent to a letter which the hon. Member addressed to him 1445 on this subject. The amount of business at Welshpool and in the adjoining districts is not sufficient to justify a direct wire to any of the great centres of trade; but it seems possible that by some re-arrangement of the wires in the neighbourhood an improvement in the service can be secured, and the Postmaster General will endeavour to have this carried out as soon as possible.
