*MR, JOHN ELLIS (Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe)remarked that he quite understood the reasons for removing this Bill from the Special Committee mentioned, but thought that it was important it should be referred to a Committee of no inferior status.
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (Mr. J. W. LOWTHER,) Cumberland, Penrithreplied that the Bill was not affected in any way by the questions which the Special Committee had been appointed to consider in connection with the Electric Lighting Bills. The only question involved in it was one relating to fisheries, and he really could not understand how it came to be put in the group of Electric Lighting Bills. The Special Committee which had been sitting since the beginning of May had still a heavy Bill to deal with, and under the circumstances he hoped that the House would accept this resolution and allow this particular Bill to go to another Committee.
