§ SIR WILLIAM WEDDERBURN (Banffshire)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether, looking to the 625 use that is being made of Indian troops for Imperial purposes in South Africa and China, and looking also to the distressed condition of India, the Government will take into early consideration the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Indian Expenditure as to the apportionment of charge between India and the Imperial Exchequer.
§ LORD G. HAMILTONI agree with the hon. Baronet that no time should be lost in coming to a decision on the recommendations of this Commission. I am already in communication with the Departments concerned, and I hope shortly to be able to conclude the whole matter.
