ARNOLD - FORSTER (Belfast, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any arrangement has been made for the settlement of properly qualified soldiers in South Africa at the close of the present war; and, if so, whether it is proposed to form any organisation in South Africa for the purpose of giving effect to the intentions of the Government in this respect.

Milner on the subject, and an inter-Departmental Committee is about to be appointed with representatives of the War Office, Treasury, and Colonial Office, to deal with the subject.
